Design’s Impact on Society

At Dazu Creative our goal is to impact the world from a place of authenticity. We aim to use our resources to make the world a better place. We believe that this is possible through good design. We also try to support the environment. Ultimately our hope is to elevate society through the design that we create. We strive to do what others think cannot be accomplished. In so doing, we redefine the norms of what is possible as a designer and creator in the industry. As designers, we have a responsibility because our work has the power to convey messages to the world. Design is all around us. It is at the forefront of our experience as humans on this planet. If you think about it, is there anything that you use in your daily life that hasn’t been designed? This includes the places we live, the products we use, the cars we drive, and the signs we read. Most everything we come across every single day happened to be an idea in a designer’s mind before it existed in our reality. The journal you write in, the coffee cup your drink out of, and the books you read, many of these elements were designed before being created and executed as a tangible product in the marketplace. Design blends so well into society and our everyday life, that we don’t even realize it’s there. Effective design is simply a part of our lives. In order to analyze it, we have to have the intention of actively looking for it, because it is a constant behind the scenes element present in our daily lives. We don’t take the responsibility of design’s impact on the world lightly, knowing that effective and well-thought-out design can be a force for good in society. Design can impact politics and nations. An effective design and marketing campaign can convince people to buy a product they didn’t know existed or have any reason for buying. That is the transformative power of good design. And yet, we know that this power can be used for the wrong reasons. So we don’t take it lightly. It is an honor to be able to use design as a force for good in this world. We recognize it as the true power that it is.
